KBC Financial Products is known for its equity agency execution services on the Tokyo Stock Exchange for globally based clients. Recently, we have also set up agency execution focusing on central European equities.

Japanese Equity Execution

KBC Securities Japan, part of the KBC FP Group, is a member of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Osaka Stock Exchange and JASDAQ. KBC Securities Japan trades Japanese equities on an agency basis for clients based in the US, Europe and Japan. Our Sales teams are based in a number of global locations, including Tokyo, London, and New York, providing 24 hour coverage of the Japanese markets for its clients. The Sales teams have access to the extensive Japanese Equity Research team, based in Tokyo, for market leading research focusing on small and medium sized Japanese corporations, typically with market capitalizations of less than $4 billion.

Japanese Equity Research

We have a leading team of independent Equity researchers covering most sectors of the Japanese stock market, including such diverse industries as machinery, chemicals, electronic components, telecommunications, software, financials, real estate, foods and pharmaceuticals. Coverage ranges widely from large through to mid and small cap shares. Large cap companies provide an overview of industry environments, while small and mid cap shares are chosen "bottom-up", providing a unique perspective from a generally under-researched end of the market.

The research team is highly experienced and includes four members with over 20 years of experience following their sector. Analysts are bilingual to facilitate communication with their covered companies and with our global client base. A strong emphasis is placed on meeting the needs of clients who require a timely and actionable research product.

The research team is based predominantly in Tokyo, with other team members based in London and New York. Each year our research analysts and sales staff make more than 3000 site visits to companies of all sizes. The team is co-headed by Philip Hall, a 20-year plus resident of Japan who has frequently been ranked in the top three analysts in his sector by US and EU-based investors in the Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates surveys, and by Graeme McDonald, who was recognised as the most accurate forecaster in his sector by the Starmine organisation in 2006.

Central European Equities

Leveraging off KBC Group NV's strong central European presence, we have established a central European equity agency execution business in London and New York. KBC Financial Products offers institutional clients, based mainly in the UK and Europe, agency execution services on listed equities in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Turkey, Romania and Israel. The sales and trading team also have access to the wide ranging research on central European listed companies from KBC Securities, a sister company based in Brussels which is also part of the KBC Group NV.
